Leaving Hearts Behind

There are a lot of emotions and feelings as we end our last day of our incredible journey to the State of New York. If there ever was a photo, the one to the left describes much of the team's feelings of compassion for the people of Buffalo and NYC. We simply don't want it to end. And it won't. Our legacy left behind in the hearts and lives of those God has allowed us to touch will remain in many ways, for an eternity. 1 Thessalonians 2:8 could sum up quite well what we as a team from Southside, experienced:

We loved you so much that we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well, because you had become so dear to us.

Indeed, the people we encountered are very dear to us. You are in our hearts, and we are changed by what God has used YOU to do in our lives. Praying for Ephesus Ministries, Prince of Peace Church, and Renovation Church...May you impact Buffalo for Christ! Pastor Derik

NYC Bound

We are off to NYC, leaving behind a legacy of hope for Buffalo. God began a work in Buffalo nearly four years ago in the hearts of Breck Cockrell and Jonathan Cockrell. Now they are joined by others encompassing a greater vision of partnership and blessing. Being obedient to the Call of God on our lives for this moment in eternity, we simply continue the path ahead, praying for those in New York City.

A Greater Work

It's amazing how we can develop tunnel vision within our own communities of faith. James, a leader at Ephesus Ministries admitted to me that perhaps he had been looking with a limited perspective. But with the partnership afforded by Summer Jam and three churches, he sees a greater vision for his community. We go out into the community, we prepare, we pray, we love on the families, all to connect them to a fairly young church called Ephesus. This day has been amazing in so many ways. The people coming, the new families introduced to the church, Jetboat rides, and the Niagara Falls! God what will happen tomorrow? CAN'T WAIT!wu

Im so excited at how God can take what is broken and mend and redeem and make beautiful. The team is experiencing renewal and the community is beginning to embrace Summer Jam. Tomorrow we expect over 100 kids at just our site alone. Our God is greater. Our God is stronger. God You are higher than any other!

This morning we did our devotion on Romans 12:1-2. Today and the rest of the week we will be worshiping in every way by sacrificing sleep, sweating with no AC in any building, but doing it all as OUR act of service!

Crossing into new york!

A few minutes ago we passed into New York!! If asked how we 're feeling, the first word that comes to mind is excited. Excited to share the word with others, excited to do good works for the one and only God. We hope this week will transform us and stretch us out if our comfort zones, pushing us to the full potential that God wishes to see un us. After all, this isn't a vacation, and there is a much bigger message to be relayed.

On the road to buffalo, a long ride but a very small price to pay to be able to share his word(: I feel honored to be able to work with a group if people who share the same passion as I do. The verse we are following all week is "let us keep on running the race marked out for us" Hebrews 12:1 and determination is positively the key when things get tough. God is going to work through us in so many random ways and I can't wait to see how this all works out! NYC and B-low better get ready cause here we come!

Our Georgia

On the way to Buffalo. I find myself reading of Whitefield's missionary journey to Georgia from England. I'm so blessed to be on a bus rather than a ship crossing the Atlantic. But the mission is the same "to proclaim Christ and Him crucified." God only knows what is ahead of us. What I do know is that I have confidence in the power of the gospel to save and change lives. There was Wesley before Whitefield and others before us. But we all share the same gospel and boast in the power of the prayers of the righteous. Join us in praying? We need your prayers. Buffalo needs them. NYC needs them. You too need them. Soli deo gloriaAllen P

Less Than 12 Hours

We have less than 12 hours before we head down the road. Things seem to be "happening" that are very much so the distractions of the enemy. He comes only for destruction. Destroying peoples moods, their plans, broken parts, missing pieces. But I must trust in the overflowing and abundant life Christ offers. So must everyone on our team. Christ brings life. We will do nothing less than bring Christ who gives life to people being destroyed in Buffalo and New York City. Life overflowing is life worth sharing. Pastor Derik

Less Than 24 Hours

It's 5:30am and there's now less than 24 hours before we begin an amazing journey to the cities of Buffalo, NY and New York City for an incredible opportunity to partner with two churches in bringing the gospel of Christ to their neighborhood and beyond. Three churches from Wilmington, North Carolina will begin the journey very soon. With eyes wide open and hearts expectant of what God will do, we eagerly await the chance to make a difference with the enabling power of the Holy Spirit. Here we go!
